Here are seven places and suggestions for you to enjoy Vitoria-Gasteiz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or you want to rediscover the city, you can’t miss this central square and everything it has to offer: the Monument to the Battle of Vitoria<\/strong> -the most international episode in our history-, the church of San Miguel, the shops and restaurants… and a plant sculpture<\/strong> for your selfie!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Visits to its restoration works allow you to visit every corner of this temple<\/strong> from its foundations to the tower, which offers the best panoramic view of the whole city. It was declared a World Heritage Site in the context of the northern inland Pilgrim’s Route to Santiago de Compostela.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t The city has one of the best-preserved medieval quarters in Spain. It maintains the configuration of its almond-shaped streets and walking through them allows you to admire the city walls<\/strong>, the main Gothic temples<\/strong>, visit unique museums<\/strong> such as the Bibat de Arqueolog\u00eda y Naipes, or follow the route of the murals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t The city is surrounded by a Green Belt<\/strong> made up of large parks, including the Salburua wetlands and its Ataria interpretation centre. In the Inner Green Belt<\/strong> of Avenida Gasteiz, meanwhile, is the Europa Conference Centre with its vertical garden. And special mention should be made of Florida Park<\/strong>, created in 1820 and which remains an icon of a city that has been named European Green Capital and Global Green City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Pintxos, traditional dishes and sophisticated proposals<\/strong> make the local gastronomy one of the fundamental reasons for your visit to the city. Not forgetting the wines<\/strong> of Rioja Alavesa and the txakoli of \u00c1lava, our pastry-making tradition and the Mercado de Abastos<\/strong>, a reference point that brings together local products, workshops and gastrobars in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n The Artium collection is made up of 3,000 works of art by a long list of artists such as Salvador Dal\u00ed, Pablo Picasso, Joan Mir\u00f3 and Eduardo Chillida<\/strong>. It also includes works by current artists such as Cristina Iglesias, Elena del Rivero and Miquel Barcel\u00f3<\/strong>.
