Its boutiques are famous with a selection of the best international designers and small gourmet stores offering <strong>traditional Basque products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tAlgorta\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The\u00a0<strong>Mercado de Abastos<\/strong> de Algorta (<strong>Algorta Market<\/strong>) is a reference point for finding <strong>fresh produce<\/strong> just in from the market gardens of small local farmers and high quality meat and fish. It is located on Calle Torrene street, beside the Post Office.<\/p>\n<p>In Algorta center and in the streets surrounding the market there are many retail stores offering <strong>all kinds of products and services<\/strong> you may require during your trip to Getxo.<\/p>\n<p>Algorta <strong>market<\/strong> has a curious\u00a0history\u00a0dating from its construction in <strong>1940<\/strong>. During the Civil War it was used as an air-raid shelter because it was one of the few concrete buildings in the town. Getxo residents took refuge in its basement every time the air-raid warning sirens sounded. It 2001, it was renovated, following the same architectural criteria (rationalist style) as before, but adapting it to the new times.<\/p>\nMarket <strong>opening times<\/strong>: From monday to friday 8:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00.
