<strong>Euskadi Association of Sommeliers<\/strong>, has designated Haemin Song, sommelier at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mugaritz.com\/en\/\">Mugaritz<\/a> Restaurant, as the winner of the Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The competition, in which <strong>15 sommeliers<\/strong> from our territory took part and in which several theoretical and practical tests were carried out, was decided in a blind <strong>tasting<\/strong> of various denominations and typologies, including some wines from <strong>Basque Wine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, of the four finalists (<strong>Rodrigo Andaur<\/strong> from Bodega San Martin \u00c1balos, <strong>Haemin Song<\/strong> from Restaurante Mugaritz, <strong>Jorge Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> from Restaurante Lumbre and <strong>Luis G\u00f3mez Garc\u00eda<\/strong> from the distributor Soul Wines), the jury decided to recognise the sommelier from Restaurante <strong>Mugaritz<\/strong> as the representative of the Basque Country for the national competition of the Union of Spanish Sommelier Associations (<strong>UAES<\/strong>), which will be held at the Sal\u00f3n Gourmets in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>At the event there was also a special recognition awarded by RA Original to <strong>Jon Santxotena<\/strong> of The Bost Restaurant in Vitoria-Gasteiz for his career and dedication to the world of wine.<\/p>\n<p>This championship has been sponsored by the Department of Economic Promotion and Commerce of the <strong>Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council<\/strong>, the wine platform of 54 Rioja Alavesa wineries for the on-trade and private individuals RA Original (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.raoriginal.eus\/\">www.raoriginal.eus<\/a>) and the <strong>HAZI<\/strong> Foundation of the Basque Government&#8217;s Department of Economic
