Zegama &#8211; Tolosa\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We start, of course, in Zegama, the place where Sara&#8217;s life changed. With her we will walk a stretch of the famous <strong>Zegama &#8211; Aizkorri<\/strong> and we will go down to Zegama to talk to its mayor, Joseba Eizagirre, where the famous day of San Mart\u00edn (11th November) is celebrated, with its <strong>cheese and cattle<\/strong> competition. After a hearty meal, we go to <strong>Tolosa<\/strong> to stroll through its streets, see the shops, visit the TOPIC &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/topic.eus\/\">International Puppet Museum<\/a> &#8211; and finish the day with a good txuleta dinner, this time at the Tolosa Fronton (Basque pelota court). Orio &#8211; Zarautz\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We approach the <strong>coast<\/strong> to experience with the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.begi-bistan.com\/\">Begi-Bistan<\/a> the art of <strong>rowing<\/strong> in the cradle of this sport, <strong>Orio<\/strong>. From there, we&#8217;ll put on our trainers to trot along the Talaia trail and reach <strong>Zarautz<\/strong> along the coast. The views are spectacular. Once on the town&#8217;s beach, the longest on the coast of Gipuzkoa, we&#8217;ll take a stroll watching the waves and continue through the old quarter, stopping for <strong>pintxos<\/strong> in some of its bars, such as Okamika. And we couldn&#8217;t miss <strong>surfing<\/strong>, so we&#8217;ll finish with a lesson from <a href=\"https:\/\/shelter.surf\/\">Shelter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t3. Basque Coast Geopark\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We continue along the coast and come across something as authentic as it is inevitable in Gipuzkoa: <strong>rain<\/strong>. We get our strength back with a full breakfast in <strong>Mutriku<\/strong> while we get ready for what is to come, a long walk through the <a href=\"https:\/\/geoparkea.eus\/es\/\">Basque Coast Geopark<\/a> and its 60 million years of history told through its endless <strong>flysch<\/strong>. From Mutriku to Getaria, passing through <strong>Deba and Zumaia<\/strong>, we stop at the most characteristic points of this <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> World Geopark and finish with the reward of tasting the most local dish, a good octopus.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/basquemagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.33.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.33\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"627\" width=\"970\" title=\"Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.33\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n<h2>\n\t\t4. O\u00f1ati\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The <strong>interior<\/strong> of Gipuzkoa awaits us with its magical places and valleys. This time we got up early to see the sunrise next to the <strong>Urkulu reservoir<\/strong>, a luxury that nature has left us near O\u00f1ati. And close to here, at a trot, we also found one of the greatest treasures of the province: the <strong>Sanctuary of Arantzazu<\/strong>. There, we delve into its history, its creation, its origins and&#8230; suddenly, we find ourselves in the <strong>Arrikrutz caves<\/strong>. An adventure!<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t5. Andoain &#8211; Amasa\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We set off by train from Sara&#8217;s home town, <strong>Donostia<\/strong>, had a coffee to get our strength back and headed for <strong>Andoain<\/strong>, one of our favourite places in Gipuzkoa. There, we start the day by moving our bodies on the ascent of Mount Adarra, an ideal training area.<\/p>\n<p>After enjoying (and sweating a bit) on this small but fun mountain, we take a <strong>mountain bike<\/strong> and go for a ride along the <strong>Leitzaran Greenway<\/strong>, a fantastic place to escape from the city. And, as the cherry on top, nothing less than a visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hikabodega.com\/\">Hika winery<\/a> of the well-known chef Roberto Ruiz, a temple of gastronomy and <strong>txakoli<\/strong> in an unbeatable setting.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/basquemagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.38.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.38\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"588\" width=\"970\" title=\"Screenshot-2022-12-19-at-15.38\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n<h2>\n\t\t6. Pasaia &#8211; Donostia\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We started the day by heading to <strong>Pasaia<\/strong> for a stroll through its streets, to see its colourful houses, its tradition&#8230; and to cross by <strong>boat to San Pedro<\/strong>, where we visited the <a href=\"https:\/\/albaola.org\/\">Factor\u00eda Mar\u00edtima Albaola<\/a>, a museum that pays homage to the Basque <strong>arrantzales<\/strong> and their adventures in Newfoundland.
