Seven professionals<\/strong> from different areas of the city have been appointed new ambassadors of San Sebastian<\/strong>, within the framework of the Enbaxadore Programme, promoted by the Donostia San Sebastian Tourism<\/a> Convention Bureau and the Kursaal Conference Centre.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"enbaxadore2023-aurkezpena\"\n\t

The aim is to publicly recognise and support the work and efforts<\/strong> of these professionals in attracting congresses<\/strong> to the city, with the important repercussions that this has for our destination, both economically and in terms of generating and disseminating knowledge in our environment.<\/p>\n

This year the following professionals will be recognised for the congresses held in 2022: Yago Torre-Enciso Enciso<\/strong> – International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) & Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) -, Marcos Su\u00e1rez Garc\u00eda<\/strong> – International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) & Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) -, Jes\u00fas Ibarluzea Maurolagoitia<\/strong> – Annual Scientific Meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology (SEE) -, Borja Mugabure Bujedo<\/strong> – 28th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Management (ESRA) -, Carlos Y\u00e1rnoz Ruiz<\/strong> – 28th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Management (ESRA), I\u00f1aki Aizpuru Zubitur<\/strong> – Cilect Congress – Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles de Cinema et de Television – and Pablo Garc\u00eda Astrain<\/strong> – Europan 16, Forum of Cities and Juries -.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"enbaxadore2023\"\n

\n\t\tImpact on congress activity\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

The Enbaxadore<\/em> programme aims to recognise the work of those people thanks to whom Donostia San Sebastian has become the venue for important national and international events<\/strong>. These congresses reinforce the positioning of the city as a benchmark destination for innovation and development<\/strong> at a national and international level.<\/p>\n

Congresses<\/strong> are the segment with the greatest growth potential within the meetings industry, and an activity that provides great value in quantitative terms, an economic driver for the territory<\/strong>. In 2022, 155 events<\/strong> (congresses, conferences and conventions) were held, of which 60% were international.<\/p>\n
