Since our creation in 1998<\/strong>, more than 16 million people<\/strong> have got to know the Basque Country and its surroundings<\/strong> better thanks to our different digital and printed media. The 100th edition<\/strong> of the printed magazine, the spring edition, is being distributed this week.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Portadas\n\t

In the summer of 1998<\/strong> we published our first paper magazine<\/strong>. At that time, tourism in the Basque Country had nothing to do with what we know today, as violence made us a destination with little demand. The Guggenheim Bilbao<\/strong> had only been inaugurated a few months earlier, the new Kursaal in San Sebastian<\/strong> was still under construction and people were not yet able to appreciate it, and the Europa Conference Centre in Vitoria<\/strong> was celebrating its inauguration that same year.<\/p>\n

Although there were already publications similar to ours in the main international tourist destinations<\/strong>, we were pioneers in the Basque Country and our environment, the first company to dedicate ourselves exclusively to tourism communication and promotion.<\/p>\n

Little by little and quarter by quarter, we consolidated our first masthead, that of Gipuzkoa<\/strong>, with a lot of effort, always maintaining high levels of quality and taste (so we are told), a lot of enthusiasm and the support of great professionals<\/strong> who opted to collaborate with this atypical and innovative means of communication.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"HistoriaBMag\"\n

\n\t\tTerritorial expansion\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

After consolidating the Gipuzkoa edition, we decided to expand the formula and created the titles of Navarra<\/strong> (2006), Bizkaia<\/strong> (2011), Pays Basque<\/strong> (2012), Cantabria<\/strong> (2013), \u00c1lava<\/strong> (2016) and La Rioja<\/strong> (2018). All these titles have maintained the same editorial, logistical and commercial line, working on the same original design and the same themes (leisure, culture, tourism, gastronomy and commerce).<\/p>\n

\n\t\tAlliance with C\u00f4te Basque Madame\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Since last year we have established an editorial alliance with the French publication C\u00f4te Basque Madame<\/strong>, leader in the leisure\/tourism sector in the Pays Basque, through which we share editorial content between the two companies. From now on we are stronger, our printed and digital media<\/strong> reach many more people, considerably improve their contents and provide timely information on what is happening in the sector on both sides of the Bidasoa<\/strong> River.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Distribution\n\t\tDistribution of the printed edition of BasqueMagazine.\n

\n\t\tUnification of headers\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

In 2017 we decided to create a new brand to encompass the 7 existing titles at that time, under the same umbrella. From then on, TourMagazine<\/strong>, with its 7 territorial editions, became the benchmark for tourism communication in the Basque Country and the surrounding area. Two years later, in 2021, BasqueMagazine<\/strong> replaced the previous masthead, unifying all the editions in a single printed publication.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Boletines\"\n

\n\t\tDigitalisation\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

In 2019, we began the digitalisation of our content, in parallel with the printed editions, using different media. We created the website www.tourmagazine.com and began promotion on social networks.<\/p>\n

Two years later, with the unification of the print editions, we created the digital platform www.basquemagazine.com<\/strong><\/a>, which we publish daily in 4 languages and which is already a benchmark for tourist information in the Basque Country. It currently receives more than 10,000 visits per month.<\/p>\n

Exclusively for professionals in the sector, we publish a fortnightly newsletter, BasqueMagazineNews<\/strong>, in which we report, in Spanish and Basque, on Basque tourism activity and news. 3,500 recipients per subscription.<\/p>\n

In the current year 2023 we have consolidated our social networks<\/strong>, becoming a reference point for leisure, tourism, culture, gastronomy and commerce in the Basque Country and its surroundings. We currently reach more than 26,000 people a month with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn <\/strong>and Twitter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t
