The presentation of this initiative will be held on 9 June<\/strong> at Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria (Pasaia)<\/strong>, in a day of awareness-raising that will be free and open to the public with prior reservation<\/strong> of admission.<\/p>\r\n

Patagonia has chosen Gipuzkoa, specifically Albaola (Pasajes), to celebrate the launch of its new campaign to protect the oceans on 9 June, an event that forms part of World Oceans Week<\/strong>. The event, which will be free and open to the public with a pre-booked ticket, will feature an extensive programme of talks and screenings related to sustainability in the seas, as well as live music<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

International voices such as Ricardo Aguilar (Oceana) and Claire Nouvian (Bloom)<\/strong> will join biologists, fishermen and local projects to discuss issues such as deep-sea biodiversity, fishing and projects that contribute to protecting the ocean<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

The programme will begin at 18.00 with guided tours of the shipyard-museum-school Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria<\/strong>, where the San Juan ship is already facing its last phase of construction. There will also be an immersive experience, designed by Sounds of the Ocean<\/strong>, where images and sounds of the seabed will be recreated.<\/p>\r\n

At 19.15, the debate and film session<\/strong> will begin. Organisations with a long history in the preservation of the oceans, such as Oceana, represented by Ricardo Aguilar, or the French NGO Bloom<\/strong>, with its founder Claire Nouvian as spokesperson at this event, will debate with local voices on issues such as the situation of trawling, new regulations for the protection of areas, unique projects that manage to maintain fishing activity in a sustainable way, new positive development paths for the oceans, etc.<\/p>\r\n

Films, debates and concerts<\/h2>\r\n

In addition, the debates will alternate with the screening of four films<\/strong>: L’arte Dell Attivismo (Italy), The love of the sea (Wales), The Custodians (Scotland) and Mae Mar (Portugal), which narrate projects linked to the protection of the sea. A way of bringing inspiring stories about people who have decided to act in favour of our ocean, not against it, to the public of Gipuzkoa.<\/p>\r\n

From 21.00 onwards on the new terrace of the Faktoria<\/strong>, with the backdrop of the mouth of Pasaia, you can enjoy music by the Donostian Javi Pez<\/strong> and a concert by SIGLAS, a band that has been selected as part of the Katapulta 2023 programme, which draws on 90s indie, garage revival and the most pop sound wrapped in electric freshness.<\/p>\r\n
