This year, from 21 to 25 July<\/strong>, big stars and established artists such as Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Joss Stone, Pat Metheny<\/strong>, Village People, Abdullah Ibrahim, Kenny Barron and Enrico Rava are coming to San Sebastian. 16 stages<\/strong> await you, from Gros beach to the traditional Plaza de la Trinidad.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Enrico\n\t\tEnrico Rava.\n\t

There will be 16 stages<\/strong>: Trinitate Plaza, Keler Gunea (Zurriola<\/strong> beach), Kursaal Auditorioa, FCC Victoria Eugenia Antzokia, \u0160koda San Telmo Museoa<\/strong>, Frigo Gunea, Fnac Gunea, Chillida Leku, Kutxa<\/strong> Fundazioa (Tabakalera), Sala Club, Nauticool, Garbera, San Martin Merkatua, Ir\u00fan, Fnac Foruma and the Hotel Mar\u00eda Cristina. Ninety concerts<\/strong> will be held there, of which 60 will be free, 25 will be by local groups, 9 will be for families as part of the eleventh edition of Txikijazz, 8 will be part of the ninth edition of JazzE\u00f1e – a Spanish jazz festival that will once again be held this year as part of the San Sebastian Jazz Festival -, 4 will be part of the Katapulta circuit…<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Village\n\t\tVillage People.\n\t

In the programme that we have previously announced there are great stars and established artists such as Norah Jones, Ben Harper<\/strong>, Joss Stone, Pat Metheny, Village People, Abdullah Ibrahim<\/strong>, Kenny Barron, Enrico Rava, Bill Frisell, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Yosuke Yamashita, Fred Wesley & The New J.B.’s, Jerry Bergonzi, Eri Yamamoto, Bamba Wassoulou Groove, Michele Hendricks & Ronald Baker Project…<\/p>\n

There are also emerging artists who will define the trajectory of jazz in the coming years: Julian Lage, Nubya Garcia, David Helbock, Blue Lab Beats<\/strong>, Ezra Collective, Ill Considered, The Side Effects, Five Stars, Conversessions, Bengue…<\/p>\n

\n\t\tDonostiako Jazzaldia Awards\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

The Donostiako Jazzaldia awards will be presented in recognition of three long careers<\/strong> dedicated to Jazz: Abdulah Ibrahim, Enrico Rava and Yosuke Yamashita.<\/p>\n

Abdullah Ibrahim<\/strong> is the living history of Jazz, symbol and standard bearer of a whole brilliant generation of South African musicians. In a career spanning more than 70 years, the South African genius has been universally acclaimed. We, at the Jazzaldia, have been lucky enough to be able to see and listen to Ibrahim on 5 occasions in which he gave us magical concerts that still remain, years later, in the memory of those who were able to enjoy them.<\/p>\n

Enrico Rava<\/strong> is the world’s best known and most prominent Italian jazz musician. After his rapid rise to international fame in the 1960s, the Italian trumpeter and composer, with six decades of professional career, has consistently remained one of the most active and restless musicians, always immersed in numerous original projects and considered one of the most important trumpet soloists. His sound is immediately recognisable and his music constantly flows with astonishingly original ideas.<\/p>\n

Yosuke Yamashita<\/strong> is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in the history of Japanese jazz and one of those who, over the years, has contributed the most to making Japan one of the most jazz-oriented countries in the world. Born in Tokyo in 1942, Yamashita is a celebrity in his country and is recognised worldwide, with his explosive style, as one of the best jazz pianists of all time.<\/p>\n\t
