Today Flamenco On Fire<\/strong> kicks off in Viana with the singing of David Lagos<\/strong> who presents ‘Cl\u00e1sico personal’ today at the Ruinas de San Pedro with two guest artists, Leonor Leal on baile and Melchora Ortega on vocals. Tomorrow Farruquito<\/strong> in Tudela and on the 22nd, in Pamplona, Estrella Morente and Tomatito<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

At 19:00 the street activity will begin with a performance by Miguel Jim\u00e9nez Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> from the balcony of the Viana<\/strong> Town Hall. Jim\u00e9nez, a gypsy singer from Logro\u00f1o and director of a school, has a particular way of interpreting the different palos and styles that he has studied and shown throughout his life in venues such as the emblematic Casa Patas in Madrid<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Later, at 9 pm, the Ruinas de San Pedro<\/strong> will host the presentation of the show ‘Cl\u00e1sico personal’<\/strong>, by the cantaor David Lagos<\/strong>. The Jerez-born singer will not be alone in this heritage setting. He will be accompanied on stage in this eclectic revision of the flamenco repertoire, of which he is a great connoisseur, as he has shown during his extensive career in festivals such as the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla or the Suma Flamenca in Madrid. He will be accompanied by Alfredo Lagos (guitar), Melchora Ortega (vocals), Leonor Leal (dance) and Perico Navarro (percussion).<\/p>\r\n

Farruquito in Tudela<\/h2>\r\n

The next day of Flamenco On Fire will take centre stage in Tudela<\/strong>. On Saturday 19 August, also in unique venues, up to four performances will be held during the afternoon and evening. At 18:30 p.m. Morenito Hijo<\/strong>, cantaor from La L\u00ednea de la Concepci\u00f3n, will perform on the balcony of the Town Hall accompanied by Iv\u00e1n Losada’s<\/strong> guitar. The doors of the Fernando Remacha Conservatory will open to the guitar playing of Jes\u00fas Carbonell from Navarre at 19:15. And at 20:30, in B\u00e1rdenas Reales, there will be an original performance by Ni\u00f1o Ruven and his flamenco bassoon, who will be accompanied by Jos\u00e9 Lorite ‘Macareno’, a guitarist based in C\u00f3rdoba, and Raquel Romero Toro on the viola.<\/p>\r\n

Finally, in the prelude to the Pamplona programme, Farruquito<\/strong> arrives at the Teatro Gaztambide in Tudela<\/strong>. He does so to present his latest offering, Baja\u00f1\u00ed, which in Cal\u00f3 means guitar. He is accompanied not only by his son, Juan ‘El Moreno’, but also by Ismael de la Rosal el Bola, Ezequiel Montoya and Mari Vizarraga (vocals), Manuel Valencia (guitar), Yerai Cort\u00e9s (guitar) and Paco Vega (percussion).<\/p>\r\n
