Fashion<\/strong> event. The main purpose of the gala has always been to promote the region through some of the greatest <strong>talents<\/strong> in both disciplines.<\/p>\r\n<p>The location for the event was the emblematic <strong>Hotel Maria Cristina<\/strong> in San Sebastian, a <strong>Luxury Collection<\/strong> hotel with a long history &#8211; this year it celebrated its <strong>109th anniversary<\/strong>. Icon and emblem of the Basque city, it was the habitual residence of prominent personalities of the<strong> 20th century<\/strong> royalty and aristocracy. Today it is one of the most important <strong>cultural<\/strong> and <strong>film<\/strong> landmarks.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"_AA__6870\" src=\"https:\/\/basquemagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/AA__6870.gif\" alt=\"Model parading\" width=\"970\" height=\"1301\" \/> Model parading <img decoding=\"async\" title=\"_AA__8046\" src=\"https:\/\/basquemagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/AA__8046.gif\" alt=\"Matching plate with model\" width=\"970\" height=\"1316\" \/> Matching plate with model<\/p>\r\n<p>The <strong>evening&#8217;s menu<\/strong>, one of the key parts of the event, was created by <strong>10 chefs<\/strong>, including <strong>7 Michelin stars<\/strong>: Diego Guerrero (2), Fabian Feldman, Aitor Arregui, Gorka Txapartegui, Dani L\u00f3pez and Rub\u00e9n Trincado.<\/p>\r\n<p>The <strong>dessert<\/strong>, spiced<strong> chocolate textures<\/strong>, one of the most special moments of the evening, was prepared by the chef of the Hotel Maria Cristina, <strong>Jes\u00fas Caballero<\/strong>, inspired by an exclusive design from <strong>Crist\u00f3bal Balenciaga&#8217;s<\/strong> private collection which was exhibited for the first time in public at the fashion show where the creations of the most promising designers from the Basque Country and the French Basque Country were shown beforehand with designs made exclusively for the gala. Among them Anelore &amp; Le R\u00e9ve &amp; Nicolas Ouchenir, Petro Valverde, E\u00f1aut Barruetabe\u00f1a, Eder Aurre, Studio Betolaza, Isabel Zapardiez, Iraia Oiartzabal, Alicia Rueda and Amagoia Etxeberria.<\/p>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"_AA__5897\" src=\"https:\/\/basquemagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/AA__5897.gif\" alt=\"All participants of the event\" width=\"970\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>In the words of the hotel&#8217;s new director, <strong>Borja Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, &#8220;gastronomy and fashion have always been very present in the hotel&#8217;s history. Not in vain, the Maria Cristina was chosen by <strong>Coco Chanel<\/strong> as the setting for her fashion shows during the golden years of the <strong>Belle Epoque<\/strong>, and every year it houses the creations of the best international designers who walk the red carpet at the <strong>San Sebastian International Film Festival<\/strong>.
