BAD, the Bilbao Festival of Contemporary Theatre and Dance, is here
BAD will be held from 12 to 22 October at venues in the city such as La Fundición, Harrobia, Sala Bilborock and Sala Cúpula del Teatro Campos. The programme offers 11 premieres: 10 in the Basque Country - 2 of them local premieres - and one in Spain. They will feature disciplines such as dance-performance, new dramaturgy and theatre. Tickets are already on sale on the Festival website.
BAD - Festival de Teatro y Danza Contemporánea, organised by Bilbao City Council, kicks off its XXV edition this Thursday, 12 October, which will run until 22 October.
This Bilbao Festival of avant-garde culture kicks off its programme at La Fundición (Thursday 12, 19:00) with Olfa Sendesni and her proposal "Rabia(a)-Amorrua-?????". This work, which has received the Artists in Residence-Bilbaoeszena 2023 grant, will open an edition that will feature 16 companies, seven of them local, six national and three international (Argentina, Portugal and France).
Already consolidated as one of the dates to mark in the agenda of anyone who enjoys culture year after year, BAD will offer sixteen events that combine the essential support to local creative talent - the aforementioned Olfa Sendesni, Paula Gironi, CIA. Analógica, Neri (H)ari - Myriam Pérez Cazabón, La Higuera and NODE - with a careful selection of shows from other countries and corners of Spain (Catalonia, the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Navarre and Madrid).
BAD will end its programme on Sunday 22nd with "ETUDE4 - Fandango y otras cadencias" by Aina Alegre (La Fundición, 18:00); and with "Concierto geológico", by the company AzkonaToloza (20:00 in Sala Bilborock).
