The best folk returns to Getxo this September

Más sobre:
From 14 to 18 September, traditional sounds return to Getxo, which celebrates the 38th edition of the most popular of its music festivals. Getxo Folk brings us a very diverse programme in which we will have the opportunity to enjoy sounds from different origins. Performances for all ages and tastes where the sounds of different origins are the protagonists.

Among others, groups and artists such as Tanxugueiras, the group Enredadas (which brings together Uxía, Martirio, Carmen París and Ugia Pedreira) and María Arnal i Marcel Bagés will perform. Up to 15 performances will be held at the Getxo Folk, which will take place in the Old Port of Algorta and will bring back the open-air offer with the return to normality. The subscription concerts, like last year, will take place in the Muxikebarri centre and tickets are already on sale.

In the star concerts (Muxikebarri, 20:00), the festival seeks to approach folk from other sounds, also betting on new generations of artists. Xabier Paya, Director of the Aula de Cultura, affirms 'the importance of the role of women in the transmission of folk music', an aspect that the festival wants to visualise in this year's edition, which will have 'a woman on the Muxikebarri stage every day'.
In the case of the free offer, which will take place in the Old Port of Algorta, there will be performances at 18:00 and 23:00. In the latter, the festival welcomes bands such as Gozategi (16th), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and Buhos (17th), with which the festival is committed to festive performances. There will also be concerts aimed at family audiences, which will take place on the 17th and 18th at 12:00 noon.
