The choir has a full month of performances ahead of it, both in Donostia and in other cities. From 1 December until the end of the year, the Orfeón Donostiarra will be immersed in a Christmas tour of different cities.
Firstly, on 1 December, the choir directed by José Antonio Sainz Alfaro will take part in the Donostia lights switch-on by singing several songs. The event will be open to the public at 18:30 in front of the Hotel María Cristina. It is an ideal plan and there will be many surprises to welcome Christmas in San Sebastian.
Thus, the choir from San Sebastian will visit Alicante on the 10th, specifically the home of the Orchestra, conducted by Josep Vicent and with the following repertoire: Canto Espiritual by Montsalvatge and the 9th Symphony by Beethoven. Erika Grimaldi (soprano), Airam Hernández (tenor), José Antonio López (baritone) and Teresa Iervolino (mezzo-soprano) will participate.
One day later, it will be time to sing again at the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, in the Ciclo Ibermúsica.
On December 12th, the Orfeón will fill Zaragoza with music, in the Auditorium's Great Concerts Season, and on December 13th, the Orfeón will come to the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.
After returning home and resting for a couple of days, the Orfeón Donostiarra will travel to the Teatro Principal in Vitoria and offer a Christmas Concert on December 16th. Once again under the baton of José Antonio Sainz Alfaro and with the accompaniment of the pianist Jon Urdapilleta, the choir will perform works such as West Side Story, Medley, Moon River, Edelweiss, Days of wine and roses...
