After a two-year hiatus, the cannon fire will once again be heard in Alderdi Eder as the start of the Semana Grande (Big Week) in San Sebastian. On August 13th, the festival kicks off to give way to a programme full of activities in which traditional proposals and novelties for all kinds of audiences coexist.

The cannon shot will kick off eight days of festivities in which everyone who comes to enjoy the programme will find something to their liking. Giants and big-heads, fire bulls, fireworks, concerts, sports activities, street theatre, txarangas, dance groups, herri kirolak (rural sports), food trucks and craft stalls will fill the streets of the city with colour and festivities.
After the festive kick-off with the sounds of the 'Artillero', the "Holi Fest" will delight the youngsters on the Boulevard, with a bath of colour that offers plenty of fun. Afterwards, the traditional 'Alarde de txistularis' will take over, filling the Plaza de la Constitución with music, marking the start of a week in which everyone will find multiple options to enjoy themselves to their heart's content.

A total of 30 spaces will become a particularly festive stage. Thus, in addition to the traditional Boulevard, Plaza de la Constitución, Sagüés or Alderdi Eder, the Garden of the Aiete Palace, Riberas de Loiola or the River Urumea will be added.
