KANTAURI analyses the relationship between man and the Cantabrian Sea

Until 3 September, the San Sebastian Aquarium is presenting this interesting exhibition, which forms part of Kantauri, a transmedia awareness-raising project that aims to raise awareness of the Cantabrian Sea, a sea that is still largely unknown to the majority of the population.
The relationship between humans and the Cantabrian Sea is thousands of years old and has greatly influenced the culture of coastal peoples. Despite this, to this day, it is still largely unknown to the majority of the population.
Kantauri is a transmedia awareness-raising project aimed at the general public. Its aim is to raise awareness of the richness of the marine ecosystems of these waters, addressing the public so that they understand the close relationship that is established between living beings, but also between the latter and the physical environment they inhabit. We seek a global vision that helps to understand the complexity and importance of conserving marine ecosystems, of seeking a balance with our development for the conservation of the planet as we know it.
Kantauri and the exhibition
The photographic exhibition, which can now be seen at the Aquarium in San Sebastian until 3 September, is made up of 25 photographs by Isaías Cruz, Xabier Mina Ederra and Javier Mina Rodríguez. It has previously been exhibited in Bordeaux and Pamplona.
The Kantauri transmedia project also includes a 70-minute documentary directed by Xabier Mina Ederra and Isaías Cruz Irujo and various talks by the directors of the project on the relationship between humans and the seabed, specifically the Cantabrian coast. Several videos will be shown during the talks.
The companies Dibulitoon, CM Conglomira and 601 have participated in its creation and development, with the support of the Euroregion of New Aquitaine, the Basque Country and Navarre.
