Alava starts its festivities with gastronomy as a reference point

Alava came alive on Saturday with the beginning of the festivities in honor of San Prudencio and Our Lady of Estibaliz. The Plaza de la Provincia was full of activities with gastronomic contests, dances and sports. The festival will culminate on Wednesday 24th with the Pregón, promising to continue delighting with its culture and tradition.

Alava was full of life last Saturday with the beginning of the celebrations in honor of St. Prudentius and Our Lady of Estibaliz. From early morning, the Plaza de la Provincia became the focus of a day full of activities for all ages and tastes.

The flavors and smells of the region were highlighted with the gastronomic contests, which included the preparation of typical Alavese dishes and the tasting of Rioja Alavesa wines. In addition, pintxos de txistorra were enjoyed and prizes were awarded in recognition of culinary excellence.

In terms of sports, various competitions were held, from the San Prudencio Weightlifting Trophy to the San Prudencio Federated Swimming Trophy, demonstrating the passion and athletic talent of the community.

The day also included cultural activities, such as card games organized by the Armentia Administrative Board, adding a touch of fun and competition to the holiday.

THE PREGON

Preparations are underway for the Proclamation that will take place next Wednesday, April 24 at 8:00 pm in the Plaza de la Provincia, where Teresa Ibañez Axpe will pay tribute to the neighborhood theater, presented by Josune Mendizabal, followed by a concert by Lautadako Orkestra.
