The National Rugby League has made it official that Donostia - San Sebastian will host the quarter-finals of the French National Rugby League from 9 to 11 June. The Anoeta stadium will host one more year one of the most important rugby championships in the world and more than 80,000 fans are expected to come to the city. Practically all the accommodation is already "fully booked".
The first semi-final will take place on Friday at 21:05 between Toulouse and Racing 92 de Paris; and the second match will be held on Saturday at 17:00 between La Rochelle and Bordeaux-Bègles.
Fans are expected to gather in two large fan zones: in the area between the stadium and the Anoeta mini-stadium, on the one hand, and in the so-called Village Top 14 Extra Tour, on the Sagüés esplanade, on the other.
The area around the stadium will be animated by music and txoznas, while next to the Zurriola beach there will be a beer fair, among many other activities. The sale of alcohol in the area surrounding the stadium will stop half an hour before the two matches.
In addition, there will also be activities in other areas such as Plaza Catalunya, with herri kirolak; the area that has been named Catedral-Urdaneta in the vicinity of the Buen Pastor, the Pío XII area and Plaza Easo, which will host a sardinada, bertsolaris and a sample of Basque gastronomy.
