Formula Student Vitoria to race at Silverstone and Montmeló

Formula Student Vitoria (FSV), a competition team made up of 40 university students from the Alava campus of the UPV/EHU, has already prepared its new electric single-seater to compete this summer.
It will make its debut at the English Silverstone circuit on 19 July and will then take part in other international Formula Student motorsport events such as Castelo Blanco (Portugal) and Montmeló (Barcelona).
The project has been presented by representatives of the entities that have supported the project: Saray Zárate, Deputy for Economic Development and Innovation; Maider Etxebarria, Mayoress of Vitoria-Gasteiz; Jon Urresti, President of the Vital Foundations; Manoli Igartua, Vice-Rector of the Alava campus of the UPV/EHU and Jorge Pastor and Héctor Lizar, team-leaders of Formula Student Vitoria. The initiative is also supported by the Basque Government.
This new single-seater, called Bizkor EV02, is an evolution of the initial FSV concept presented in 2021. The new vehicle has a chassis made of carbon fibre, using composite materials to make it lighter, electric motors on all four wheels for traction and other major developments such as a complete and evolved aerodynamic kit.
This year, after passing tough entry tests, the vehicle has been accepted in three competitions: at the English circuit of Silverstone (FS ImechE UK) from 13 to 23 July; in the new test in Castelo Branco (Formula Student Portugal) from 31 July to 6 August and in the classic test at the Circuit de Catalunya Montmeló (Formula Student Spain) from 6 to 12 August.
Formula Student Vitoria is a project that combines the planning, design and manufacturing phases of a high-tech single-seater. It is made by students in an autonomous and self-taught way, in close collaboration with local industry agents in order to obtain a very practical learning and to be able to develop innovations that will be applied in the future in different fields of engineering.
