Loiu airport is the best in Europe and the 21st best in the world, according to AirHelp, a company specialising in airline complaints. This ranking, drawn up in 2023, measures the punctuality of flights, the opinion of users and the quality of the airport's services -shops and meals-.
Loiu has an overall score of 8.04. It has an 8.11 in punctuality, 8.14 in customer ratings and 7.74 in leisure facilities. It also climbed three places compared to the 2022 report.
Among the airports, the air passenger advocacy organisation Airhelp has drawn up its traditional annual ranking in which it chooses the best airport, which last year was Tokyo (Japan) and this year goes to Muscat (Oman).
According to the organisation's data, Muscat International Airport in Oman achieved the highest overall score of 8.54: 8.36 for punctuality, 8.72 for passenger ratings and 8.90 for the quality of its retail and catering facilities.
In second place is Recife Airport (Brazil) with 8.49, which is also managed by the Spanish company AENA, and in third place is Cape Town (South Africa) with 8.48, the only airport in the top 10 that is not in Asia or America.
