Presentation of the San Sebastian Moda Festival 2022

The San Sebastian Moda Festival Autumn-Winter 2022 has been presented in the presence of the Regional Minister of Tourism, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Javier Hurtado. The capital of San Sebastian will once again become the epicentre of Basque fashion. From 19 to 22 October.

As part of the Festival, the Department of Tourism, Trade and Consumer Affairs has promoted the Euskadi Fashion Awards, which recognise the work of professionals in the textile design and trade. This year's winners for their work are Amaia Kids, SKFK and Sophie et Voilá.
The Minister stressed that these awards recognise professional careers, sustainability and international expansion, key pillars in the development of a solid and innovative trade in a new model characterised by a mosaic society in which 5 generations coexist, with new habits of a new multi-channel consumer who is aware of sustainability. "We must be able to respond to these and other challenges in order to accompany commerce on the road to recovery from the crisis, but also in its transition towards a new model, which it was already facing before and which has accelerated with the pandemic".

The Councillor Javier Hurtado stressed that actions such as the San Sebastian Moda Festival, consumer vouchers, aid for commercial entrepreneurship, modernisation of commercial establishments, commercial dynamisation and competitiveness and projects such as the Basque Retail School, whose second congress was held on Wednesday, contribute to consolidating and modernising the Basque retail sector.
"An example of support and enhancement of local commerce is to showcase its products in fashion shows, to visualise the work and effort of its professionals with awards and, in short, to promote our commerce to highlight its undeniable role in the social cohesion of our urban model".
