On Thursday of next week, March 21, Sala BBK in Bilbao will host the premiere of "Bizkaia, land of riders", a documentary that covers the complete history of surfing in Bizkaia, from its beginnings in the 70s of the last century to the present day.

The film, produced by Surf Channel and directed by Isio NoyaThe magazine talks about amateur surfing and the first clubs, as well as competitive surfing, giving a voice to the federative organizations and institutions that support it, as well as to the great surfers of the Biscayan coast: Kepa Acero, Eneko Acero, Javi Amezaga, Ariane Otxoa, Gorka Yarritu, Natxo González, Yago Domínguez... The first and only time it will be shown on the big screen (later it will only be shown on television), will be on the 21st at the Sala BBK on Bilbao's Gran Vía, in an event that will start at 6 pm. and will be attended by Aitor Gabiña, director of Surf Channel, and some of the Biscayan surfers who appear in the film. Admission will be free and free until full capacity is reached, without the need to reserve invitations in advance.

"Bizkaia, land of riders", which has been sponsored by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and of BBKis a groundbreaking production that documents in depth the history of a sport that came to Bizkaia half a century ago and which, little by little, became professionalized in areas such as Mundaka, positioning our territory worldwide. The documentary travels along the beaches of Biscay and, in them, the protagonists talk about how it all began: competitions, surfers, shapers, the Biscayan Surfing Federation... The film is born thanks to the impulse of Surf Channel, the first channel in Europe exclusively dedicated to the world of surfing, born in 2018 by the hand of the Gipuzkoan content distributor Bulow Media.

Surf Channel started its activity in Donostia, broadcasting contents and productions of others. Today, he is also a producer of his own content and programs, as well as a dozen documentary films. The first was in co-production with TVE in 2019: "Caminando las olas", a tape that followed the Biscayan surfer Kepa Acero doing the Camino de Santiago, combining stages on bicycle and surfing.

Currently, Surf Channel -which broadcasts 24 h. The program is available through all cable operators in the state (except Movistar) and various FAST TV services (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television; available free of charge and without subscription on some smart TVs, such as Samsung or LG). It is present in five million homes throughout Spain, as well as in the rest of Europe through Rakuten (in 90 million homes in 43 countries). After its absolute premiere at Sala BBK on Thursday, March 21, the documentary "Bizkaia, land of riders" will be broadcasted on Surf Channel and distributed internationally.
