Until next Sunday Pasaia will be a hive of boats, people from different origins and activities After the success of the first edition, and after waiting 4 years, Pasaia Itsas Festibala, the most important international maritime-cultural festival of the Basque Coast finally celebrates its second edition.

This is a gathering of traditional boats from different cultures and of heritage value in which the bay of Pasaia in Gipuzkoa is flooded with maritime culture, music, gastronomy, crafts, workshops and informative events.

From 26th to 29th May, Pasaia will once again change its rhythm, its colour and even its aroma to pay tribute to the sea and its people, thus vindicating its place as a great maritime enclave with this second edition of the Festival. And everything is ready, Pasaia is eagerly awaiting the 160 boats that will take part in this event. It is also waiting for the thousands of people who will come, curious, to witness a spectacle of such magnitude. Everything is ready for everyone to receive their welcome.

Pasaia, the most internationally renowned town in terms of Basque Maritime Heritage due to its historical contribution to the development of the naval and fishing industry, together with its natural bay, its well-preserved historic centres and its gastronomic offer, make it the ideal place to hold a maritime meeting of these characteristics.

But Pasaia offers this and much more, with its seafaring soul and the smell and taste of the sea in its streets and its people, which will make those who visit during these days live an unforgettable experience.

Portugal, guest of honour

Portugal will be the country, or rather, the maritime culture guest of honour at the second edition of the festival. There will be traditional boats of heritage interest at sea and a representation of its culture on landfados, traditional charanga, gastronomy, dances, etc.
