Would you like to get to know nature and ecotourism in the Basque Country? The Basque Route offers you the opportunity to connect with all these options through its almost 950km of route and its eight different stages so that you can discover and get to know the natural gems of the Basque Country.

The Basque Country is the ideal destination to live and feel the experience of connecting with nature. It is populated by centuries-old beech and oak forests, lakes and wetlands, nine natural parks, the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, the Basque Coast Geopark and a culture of which the landscape is part, green or blue, but always intense.

The Basque Route will take you to the 9 nature parks where you can enjoy dream natural environments: Armañón, Urkiola and the northern slopes of the Gorbeia nature park, in Bizkaia; Aizkorri-Aratz, Aralar, Pagoeta and Aiako Harria (Peñas de Aya), in Gipuzkoa; and Izki, Valderejo and the southern slopes of the Gorbeia nature park, in Álava.

The Basque Country has more than 50 companies that are members of the Ecotourism Club of Spain, which offer visitors the opportunity to carry out activities such as geotourism, interpreted visits to nature, bird watching, forest bathing, etc., so that they can enjoy the environment in an ethical, respectful and sustainable way.
