Donostia wants more Glad Is The Day

Más sobre:
Created in the context of the European Capital of Culture 2016, in a short time it has become a benchmark event in the summer in San Sebastian with two stages and a multitude of attendees at a festival that is both family-friendly and avant-garde, inclusive and innovative.

Concerts, DJ sessions, food trucks, a street market and children's activities make up the programme for a day of music sponsored by Keler beer. From 12:00 to 21:00, with free admission and open to all, different bands will perform on the Main Stage while electronic, hip-hop and urban DJs will play on the Sonic Ruin. A 9-hour non-stop programme that combines local character and talent with surprising proposals full of personality, both in the street market and in the music.

The festival -which in the play on words of its name pays homage to the militant environmentalist Gladys del Estal- is conceived to be enjoyed in the most respectful and friendly way with what is today the favourite park of many Donostians: Cristina Enea. It is the largest and most wooded urban park in the city, a gift made by the Duke of Mandas to San Sebastian (hence the name of his wife) on condition that its original appearance was respected. And so it has been: the park retains the same charm of yesteryear, with a complete network of paths and gardens where peacocks roam freely. On special occasions such as Glad Is The Day, it is also the setting for cultural celebrations and performances.

A great little event to enjoy the music in the city's most popular park and make a perfect summer plan with friends and family. Once night falls, more DJs will continue to select the best tracks in the nearby clubs in the Egia neighbourhood for those who want to extend the weekend. Come and see!
