The museums of Bizkaia present a varied program for August, with exhibitions, activities and guided tours that immerse visitors in the rich history and traditions of the territory.

This cultural offer allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history and traditions of the territory. At La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa, the Bilduma program presents the "Peter Pan" compact record player, a gramophone designed by Emily Alice Ferris, which is part of the museum's collection. This exhibition will be open until October 24, allowing visitors to appreciate a unique piece that preserves all its original parts. In addition, the temporary exhibition "From the camera to the needle", produced by Euskal Museoa, will run until November. This exhibition includes a selection of photographs by Eulalia Abaitua and reproductions of four women's costumes from Bizkaia from the 19th and 20th centuries, offering a detailed view of the fashion and daily life of that period. The museum also offers guided tours from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00. These tours allow you to explore the factory founded in 1892, preserved as an industrial museum housing an exceptional collection of machinery from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Arrantzaleen Museoa in Bermeo hosts the exhibition "Bermeo Portu Zaharra 1877-2024", a photographic exhibition that includes 34 images that capture the evolution of the Old Port of Bermeo over the last 150 years. Curator Iñaki Marcaida has spent decades photographically documenting the port's changes and activities since 1965. Thanks to digital techniques, the photographs have been restored, recovering their original splendor and offering a chronological view of the port's physical and social development. In this museum, on August 10 will open a new space dedicated to La Galerna occurred in August 1912. New panels will provide more information on galleys of this magnitude that occurred on the coast of Bizkaia where many fishermen perished in 1878 and 1912, the year in which 143 fishermen died in what is known as "the Galerna of the night of Santa Clara". On August 29 and 30, the museum will host the summer course, organized by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the UPV EHU, "Literatura eta nazioa. Nazioa eta Literatura". This course, free and open to the public, will be taught in Basque and will explore the role of literature and music in the formation of Basque identity. Writers and singers such as Iparragirre, Lizardi, Lauaxeta, Aresti, Lete and Laboa will be the focus of study, analyzing how their works have contributed to Basque culture and the notion of Basque nationhood over the last hundred years. The El Pobal Ironworks and Muñatones Castle offer a series of outstanding activities in August. On Sundays August 4 and 25 there will be a free monographic visit to the temporary exhibition "Señales del viento, señales del tiempo. Weather vanes in Bizkaia" at 11:00 am.
