Mountain routes from the capital cities

Más sobre:
Recently published by Sua Edizioak, we present this new guide to discover our capitals from a hiking and mountain perspective. The mountains surrounding the capitals are modest and easy to walk through, but some of these natural sites are less well known and still retain their scenic, cultural and historical attraction, making them well worth a visit for hiking.

Txusma Pérez Azaceta surprises us once again with the publication of this book and his selection of twenty-four routes of different styles in the outskirts of Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián, Pamplona-Iruña and Vitoria-Gasteiz. It also includes a central report where you can discover some of the most curious green spaces in our capitals.

The prologue is signed by the veteran mountaineer from San Sebastian Jesús Mª Alquézar, a great connoisseur and extraordinary disseminator of the mountains of the Basque Country.
The introduction to the guide is written by the prestigious mountain chronicler Antxon Iturriza, who introduces us to the dawn of mountaineering in the Basque Country. In a very well documented text with several anecdotes and curiosities, he describes in great detail the first steps taken by the pioneers of Basque mountaineering and their evolution from the streets to our nearest mountains. It is a great opportunity to get to know the testimonies and chronology of our mountaineering history.
