The ikurriña will take the streets of Euskadi during the Tour
Euskadi’s support for cycling is unconditional, as is demonstrated by the fact that every year the ikurriña (Basque flag) colours the Pyrenees and other major mountain passes of the Tour de France. This year, the roads, towns and cities of the Basque Country will be dressed in the red, green and white that will be worn by thousands of fans on 1, 2 and 3 July.

He was born in Elgoibar on 9 March 1834, lost his parents before he was twelve years old and, seeing that the inheritance of his family -former steel manufacturers- was scarce, he decided to go to Mexico in search of new opportunities.
