The Provincial Council of Alava, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council and the Basque Tourism Agency Basquetour presented the project for the new Green Card tourist card at the International Tourism Fair FITUR. After a period for companies to sign up, the card will be operational in the summer.
The 'Green Card' Tourist Card offers visitors to the territory discounts and incentives in accommodation, restaurants, guided tours, museums, wineries and outdoor activities. The project is open to companies in the sector that want to incorporate their offers as an attraction.
It is being presented at the 43rd edition of the fair, with the presence of 10,000 companies from 170 countries. The aim of the Green Card is to position Vitoria-Gasteiz and Alava as a sustainable destination with its offer of nature, historical heritage, food and wine, festivals and events, to give visibility to tourism companies and to reinforce the competitiveness of the local tourism offer.
