The exhibition reviews the formation and trajectory of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bilbao from its founding in 1924 until the union of its collection with that of the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao in 1945.
Entreacto delves into key events such as the acquisition of emblematic works of art, the first exhibitions of contemporary art, the evacuation of the collections during the Civil War, the relationship with other museum projects of those years in Bilbao and Madrid, or its involvement with the artists and currents of its time.
Sota Family. Art and patronage

This exhibition revisits the figure of Ramón de la Sota y Llano (1857-1936), the origin of one of the most outstanding episodes of private collecting and patronage during the first decades of the 20th century in Bilbao.
Francisco de Goya's Vuelo de brujas - on loan from the Museo del Prado - acts as a chronological axis between the ancient works of art of Luis de Morales "el Divino", El Greco, Cornelis van der Voort or Juan Carreño de Miranda, and the modernity of Darío de Regoyos, Adolfo Guiard, Ramón Casas, Ignacio Zuloaga, Aurelio Arteta or Antonio de Guezala, among others.
