This summer, Gipuzkoa Turismoa is committed to promoting experiences in the territory in its promotional campaign. Under the name of "Gipuzkoa bizitzeko", 5 people born outside the Basque Country who chose Gipuzkoa to live, tell us in different chapters their stories, why they chose this place in the world to settle, and enjoy an experience they did not know.
The campaign consists of 5 chapters, which are reflected in the form of a series as if it were an entertainment platform. The chapters are already available at www.gipuzkoaturismoa.eus. Below we present the protagonists, their stories and the experiences they have lived.
Line Alfaro
She is a Brazilian girl who, after living and working as a biochemist in different cities around the world, arrived in Donostia and, as soon as she met it, she fell in love with the city and the natural environment. With her, the experience of enjoying the Via Ferrata of Leitzaran together with friends takes place. There she goes down the zip line, climbs and discovers a unique place in the nature of Gipuzkoa.
Pablo Vicary
An Argentinian, he arrived in Gipuzkoa after leaving his career as a lawyer to learn cooking in what he was told was the mecca of world gastronomy. Here, settled, head chef of the well-known Elkano restaurant in Getaria and father of a family, he accompanies us on a kayak trip down the Oria river, a journey to one of the most exotic areas of the coast of Gipuzkoa.
Phill Huxford
He came to Ordizia as a star signing for his rugby team, Ampo Ordizia, and never wanted to leave the area again. After his sporting career, he has remained linked to the club and runs his own catering business in Goierri with a local partner. With him, we sail around the bay of Txingudi in a sailboat to remember his childhood near the sea in New Zealand.
Ayoon y Max
From Seoul, they wanted to get away from the speed of the Korean pace of life and improve their quality of life. And it was when they saw a report on the gastronomy of Gipuzkoa on the BBC that they decided they had to come here to live. Said and done, in just six months they were already settled in Donostia, he studying cooking and she painting, captivated by the sunsets of this land. With them, we enjoyed a cooking class to learn how to prepare authentic Tolosa beans.
Reyes Prados
Andalusian, Sevillian and Gipuzkoan by adoption. Captivated by the culture, tradition and language, she is already a Basque speaker, living in Elgoibar and working as a television presenter and teacher at the UPV. With her we are going to enjoy a Jai Alai match and learn more about this sport of Basque origin.
