This season has seen the premieres of the most popular international plays, the best-known stories, the most unforgettable discoveries and the biggest shows. The bigger the success, the longer the run, and many of them are coming to the Basque Country this summer to stay. Grease, Cirque du Soleil, Tadeo Jones... are waiting for you.
For example, it's the perfect time to discover why people talk so much about Cirque du Soleil, so they won't tell you any more! This summer they are touring the north and will be in July at the Plaza de Toros Illumbre in San Sebastián. Candlelight, the Musical Los chicos del Coro or Adictos with Lola Herrera are some of the shows you can't miss.
Candlelight
It's not a candlelit dinner, it's much better: Candlelight recreates that intimate and romantic atmosphere in a saga of concerts illuminated by thousands of candles, which will enrapture the audience while the best musicians play tributes to artists such as Ed Sheeran, Coldplay or Ludovico Enaudi; flamenco tributes; ballets and many more shows in different areas of cities in Spain.
Los Chicos del Coro, the musical
The musical of "Los chicos del coro" arrives for the first time in Spain and can be enjoyed this summer exclusively in Madrid and Bilbao. José Luis Sixto promises to do justice to the film that moved us, with this theatrical adaptation that deserves success. Rodrigo Álvarez is the musical director of this challenge that also aims to transmit the need to be full of art and good music.
Grease
Another adaptation not to be missed is "Grease, The Musical". Dany Zuko and Sandy return with this classic that never dies and a soundtrack that makes us vibrate and sing along. David Serrano de la Peña has been in charge of bringing the film to the theatres with actors specially trained at the Grease School. Bilbao will be able to listen to anthems such as You're The One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted To You or Summer Nights in August.
Tadeo Jones
And if the idea is to entertain the little ones, one of the best-known Spanish animations is coming to the theatre, and in the form of a musical! Tadeo Jones The Musical has everything for children to become familiar with the theatre. Tadeo returns with his adventures and the musical themes of his films on 8 and 9 July in Bilbao.
