A breath of fresh air is blowing over the pretty seaside resort, a discreet town where life is good. If Hendaye seemed less courted than its neighbours until now, it is now, without counting on the city's renewal.
Hendaye can be discovered in a day: strolling around the bay of Txingudi; immersing yourself in the marine activity in its port and opposite Hondarribia, taking advantage of its large fine sandy beach (well known in the surfing world); photographing "les 2 Jumeaux", these two large rocks that emerge from the ocean; visiting the incomparable Abbadia Castle that dominates the Basque coastline... The Kooks Club
It's the new concept shop and café that has it all in the centre of Hendaye. For lunch, an excellent selection of tea and coffee and delicious homemade cakes. It's also a surf shop with must-have brands, inspirational books, a second-hand shop, a shower available for surfers... and Super 73 electric bike rentals and sales. / @kooksclubhendaye
Jimba
It was sold to us as the best place to look out over the bay of Txingudi, and it wasn't a lie. This fabulous café-cantina on the rooftop of the Decathlon in Hendaye is a bit like "the place to be" at any time of the day. Their homemade, eco-responsible cuisine (served in reusable glass jars) changes every week. / @jimba.hendaye
Le palmier
The Providence Guéthary team team teamed up with chef Christophe Almodovar and sommelier André Despacha to create this quality café-cantina-pizzeria. Located in a superb building on the rotunda of the Hôtel de Paris, you will come to the Palmier to taste its speciality: pizza with a homemade dough that has been fermented for almost 72 hours and a selection of natural wines. / @lepalmierhendaye
