DSS Turismoa supports our culture and euskera (basque language)
Donostia San Sebastián Turismoa launches the Basque Challenge 2 with the aim of raising awareness of the Basque language among visitors. The initiative seeks to highlight the value of our own culture, our language, authenticity and what makes Donostia/San Sebastian different from other destinations.
In euskera we have many special words that speak of both our culture and our way of being. Words that help us to show our city in a different way and also highlight our identity and the richness of what surrounds us.
The Basque Challenge 2 aims to make euskera known to those who visit us in a fun and viral way, because in euskera one word is added to another and so, so easily, we have a third one. If we tell you what each word means, would you be able to guess the meaning of their union?
Moreover, people who speak euskera can also take part, as we have prepared a special questionnaire in euskera about Donostia / San Sebastián and Basque culture.
This competition will test the knowledge of euskera and Basque culture of those who visit us and we will encourage all those who take part to learn more about our culture in a fun way.
The competition will be available in six languages (Basque, Catalan, Galician, Spanish, French and English) and can be entered from anywhere in the world.
It will be possible to take part in this challenge from the website www.sansebastianturismoa.eus from 1 to 31 March. The initiative will be disseminated through all the social networks of Donostia San Sebastián Turismoa, and among all those who take part, there will be a prize draw for a night in a double room with breakfast for two people at the Arbaso Hotel and 150 other surprises to play with the Basque language.
