Green, blue, red… the colours of Hondarribia

More about:

The historic quarter of Hondarribia, declared a historic-artistic monument together with the Barrio de la Marina, is a unique ensemble of palaces and emblazoned houses.
Some of its attractions have to do with the art of war that it had to master due to its frontier position: the slender gate of Santa María, the castle of Carlos V or the Plaza de Armas.
In Hondarribia, you can't miss its fishing heart either, along with the aforementioned district of La Marina and its colourful atmosphere. Furthermore, from the Bay of Txingudi you can take a small boat to Hendaye, or go to Cape Higuer, where there is a beautiful lighthouse.
As an option to reach Hondarribia through nature, we can start from Mount Jaizkibel, to the east, which separates us from the Bay of Txingudi and forces us to make a 20-kilometre detour to this finis terrae of Gipuzkoa.

Restaurants, pintxos, terraces and tapas bars and gastrobars. The city offers a wide variety of proposals to enjoy its best cuisine, its products and, above all, its authenticity. A town of fishermen, but in which agriculture plays an important role, a market garden of small farms, and the txakoli with its hondarribi zuri and beltz grapes... gastronomy and wine tourism.
